DIAS Field Bus System

The DIAS bus has adata rate of 11 MBdand guarantees an update of 2.5 million I/Os per second as well as an access time for one byte of 3.24 µs.

The basis for the DIAS bus is the manager-client principle. The entire communication process between bus stations is executed by the hardware automatically. Using this method, no software is needed to configure the system. The bus communication works completely independent of the control program so that the CPU is not unnecessarily burdened.

The reaction to the decentralized interrupts happens in real-time and is a unique feature of the DIAS bus system. Thus, for example, reference mark recognition, printing mark recognition, highly complex positioning tasks, etc. can be realized with decentralized modules with no additional computing capacity.

Double twisted-pair wires, fiber optic or ribbon cables can be used as data transfer medium. The targeted data rate is independent of the connection lines used. The advantage is that even with decentralized systems, the performance is not affected.
